Malaysia almost doubled palm oil exports to Ukraine

In the current 2017/18 season (September-June), palm oil imports were still at a five-year high, at 193.3 KMT, that is almost 20% more than in the same period last season (161.6 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Palm oil imports to Ukraine totaled 19.7 KMT in June 2018 that is almost 18% more than in the previous month (16.7 KMT) and up 23% from June 2017 (16 KMT).

This season’s palm oil purchases from Indonesia were slightly lower than a year ago (135.6 KMT against 137.8 KMT, respectively). At the same time, Malaysia almost doubled exports to Ukraine (40.4 KMT against 22.5 KMT, respectively). Indonesia accounts for 70% of total imports, while Malaysia’s share equals 21%. In addition, Honduras, a new player, got 6% of the market.
